More than half of those who see a general practitioner are taking some sort of natural medicine supplement, but little is known about the neurocognitive effects of these substances. This book examines whether natural and herbal medicines, vitamins, and supplements improve human cognition and/or brain processes in the healthy young and elderly and in disorders of cognition such as Alzheimer's Dementia. Addressing a broad scope that includes different classes of supplements as well as different demographic groups, contributors provide a scientific focus and describe recent research as well as what is currently known about specific supplements and intelligence, memory, cognition and brain functioning
