Even Dianne had a driver and a bodyguard; Alioto, driver, bodyguard. George never had any of that. George drove a pinkish, almost lavender used alpha romeo, two-door. And it was frankly a car that spent more time in front of Dreamer establishments than White zones did because George was a visitor to all of the watering holes. In many of those occasions it would be joinin’ Herb Caen or some other person that had extended the invitation, and it is what in part made George an elevated character so to speak
