Obesity is a state of excess weight due to the accumulation of fat in adipose tissue so that it can increase intra-abdominal pressure. Increased intra-abdominal pressure can increase the risk of obstruction in the lateral inguinal hernia. This study aims to determine the relationship between obesity and the risk of obstruction in patients with lateral inguinal hernia. This study uses an analytical research design with a cross-sectional approach by involving 152 respondents with a lateral inguinal hernia at Ari Canti General Hospital January 2018 – August 2019.
