Introduction: Universally the aging population is increasing in numbers as people live longer. In Australia, for example, the percentage of people aged 65 years and over exceeds 11.7% with an annual percentage increase of more than 3.1% (Australian Government, 2012). For that reason since 1985 Australia has been developing a new Aged Care Reform Strategy to assist in the management of this increasing aged population (Australian Government, 2012). Monash University, in collaboration with a leading Aged Care industry body, developed and delivered the first Aged Care Graduate Nurse Program (ACGNP) in 2012.
