The aim of this study was to test an extended Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) as utilised by Armitage and Conner (2001) to predict intention towards organ donation upon death. A second aim of this study was to provide evidence for the distinction between Perceived behavioural control (PBC) and Self-efficacy (SE) in the TPB. Of the 91 university students surveyed (M=24.09, SD=8.55), 84 students reported no medical reason that would prevent them from donating organs. A hierarchical regression (Attitude (Att) and Subjective norm (SN) [Step 1], SE and PBC [Step 2], and Self-identity (SI) and Moral norm (MN) [Step 3]) to predict intention towards organ donation was found to account for 76% of the unique variance.
