The photograph is of John Fitzgerald, the Mayor of Boston, and Adelaide Ovington, wife of Earle Ovington, crossing the runway field at the Harvard-Boston Aero Meet which was held in Atlantic, Massachusetts from August 26 through September 4, 1911 and was sponsored by the Harvard Aeronautical Society and the Boston Daily Globe. A Bleriot monoplane is on the field, believed to be Earle Ovington\u27s plane, and another monoplane is in the upper right hand corner of the image. The plane on the ground has a number thirteen on the tail which was the identification number given to Ovington for the meet. Spectators and tents are in the background.
