Patterson School boys, dressed as colonial soldiers, are standing at attention during the 1909 Wright Brothers Homecoming Celebration opening ceremonies on the morning of June 17, 1909. Thirty-two pupils from the Patterson School under the direction of Charles Hilgeman performed a drill at the end of the opening ceremonies. The photograph shows the boys in a line with a crowd of spectators in the background.
