This action research study was designed as an effort to provide adolescents, in an institutional setting with information and skills to make informed choices about alcohol use. This study consisted of three one hour sessions on factual information, attitudes, and decision-making skills as related to alcohol use and abuse. Participants in this study (N=10), were pretested by questionnaire. The results of pretest and posttest were analyzed using the T-test, which showed no significant difference (p > .05) concerning knowledge, attitudes and decision-making skills as a result of preventive education. This study was an effort to evaluate the effectiveness of alcohol abuse prevention education with adolescents in an institutional setting
