Parental attitudes toward teenage premarital sex, 1989

The overall objective of this study was to address issues which confront parents and teenagers in relation to premarital sex. To attain this objective the following variables pertaining to parents were examined: a) gender, b) level of education, and c) religion to determine if either contributed to parental attitudes toward teenage premarital sex. A cross sectional survey research design was used in this study. The data collection instrument consisted of a questionnaire which was administered to parents of teenagers who were employed at a mental hospital in Atlanta, Georgia and residents of an Atlanta housing project. The methods of data analysis utilized were analysis of variance, chi- square, and correlational. The results of no significant diff in relation to the religion.
