The overall objective of this study is to present the psychosocial issues faced by women of color who are HIV positive. The researcher addressed: (A) issues of disclosure, (B) support systems, (C) employment, (D) housing, (E) health care, (F) pregnancy, and (G) child care. A questionnaire was administered to 49 women of color who are HIV-infected and receiving service in public and private health care settings. The study was an attempt to either reject or accept the following null hypotheses: (1) HIV-infected women of color are not likely to report a loss of family support systems as a result of disclosure of their disease, and (2) HIV-infected women of color are not likely to report a lack of sufficient services in the public arena.
