This study attempted to answer two basic research questions: (1) is there a significant relationship between the self-esteem (high or low) and the congruence of "ideal" and "real" career choices. (2) is the congruence of "ideal" and "real" career choices higher among Black women with high self-esteem than among those with low self-esteem. Linear Correlations Coefficient was used to analyze the study data. The major finding of the study was as follows: there existed no significant difference between the self-esteem (high or low) and the congruence of "ideal" and "real" career choices among Black women
