The objective of this thesis was to examine the concept of the New International Economic Order. This was done by providing a back ground statement; examining the legality of the concept; discussing the various elements defining the concept; and describing the following quantitative issues affecting the movementcompensation, borrowing rule, compensatory financing facility, conditionality, emergency fund, structural adjustment facility and buffer stocks. The thesis relied on a literature survey of the material on the NIEO to attain the objective.
