Stereoscopic images are images where the viewer can perceive depth even though the images are shown on a flat surface. When taking stereoscopic images one has to consider the viewing environment where the images will be shown. Incorrect camera configuration can result in distortions in the perceived stereoscopic image geometry. The goal of this thesis was to study whether the calculated geometric distortions -cardboard and puppet-theater effect -can be perceived in stereoscopic images and if so, do they affect the perceived depth naturalness of the stereoscopic images.
