A shortage of skilled drivers is developing in the trucking industry. One reason for this is the high level of technical skill that is required from a truck driver. By designing truck user interfaces that are easy to use, new drivers could be quickly trained for productive work, and driving a truck made generally easier. This master's thesis examines the possibilities of developing new systems to make driving a truck easier and safer. The thesis is primarily focused on heavy-duty vocational trucks.
