In this thesis the study subject was water balance in a drained peatland forest Sattasuo in Rovaniemi. The water balance was assessed based on on-site measurements and modelling with hydrological FEMMA model, and uncertainties concerning measurements and modelling are highlighted. Also the impacts of forest management practices are studied, and this is done through literature and model simulations. As a result the water balance of Sattasuo was defined based on both measurements and modelling. Both ways were important, because by comparing them it is possible to evaluate the accuracy of the measurements and the fitting of the model results in the study site.
