Laivojen päästöjen operatiivinen raportointi

While writing this thesis, the maritime business is facing changes in the area of exhaust air emissions and their regulations. The first regulations have already been set and further are about to enter into force. The study describes the existing and forthcoming regulations, the backgrounds, the methods currently used for the reporting and the formulas behind the calculations. The last part presents an implementation for emission reporting developed for Onboard-Napa ltd. The implementation method includes gathering of the data from different sources on the ship, including continuous emission monitoring system. Then the data is recorded to a SQL database on-board the ship and from there transferred to shore by email. Last, a web based Business Intelligence tool is used to display these measurements. With this tool the shipping company will be able to monitor their fleet's emissions with a single view. The data is digitally signed on-board the ship, which allows this reporting platform also to be used to prove lower emissions for example for possible emission trading schemes, emission taxes or obtaining lower port fees. Based on this study it seems that as the emission regulations will increase, the need for such automatic emission reporting system will grow. The methods based on the calculation of NOx and SOx aren't precise enough, so if exact reporting is required it will require measurements and their reporting. This can be fulfilled trustworthy with the methods presented in this thesis.Tätä työtä tehdessä meriteollisuus on kohtaamassa vaikuttavia muutoksia koskien päästörajoituksia. Ensimmäiset rajoitukset ovat asetettu muutaman viime vuoden aikana ja uusien tulosta on jo päätetty. Tämä tutkimus kuvaa nykyiset ja tulevat rajoitukset, taustat, olemassa olevat tavat niiden raportointiin ja kaavat laskelmien takana. Viimeisessä osassa esitellään toteutustapa päästöraportoinnista, joka on kehitetty Onboard-Napa Oy:lle. Tämä toteutustapa sisältää tiedonkeruun eri lähteistä laivoilla, mukaan lukien jatkuvista päästömittauksista. Sitten kerätty tieto nauhoitetaan laivan SQL tietokantaan ja sieltä lähetetään eteenpäin maihin toimiston raportointiportaaliin sähköpostilla. Viimeisenä verkkopohjaista liiketoimintatiedon hallintatyökalua käytetään näyttämään nämä mittaukset. Näillä työkaluilla varustamon johto voi monitoroida laivastonsa päästöjä yhdellä vilkaisulla. Lähetetty tieto on digitaalisesti allekirjoitettu laivalla, joka sallii tämän tiedon käyttämisen todistamaan alempia päästöjä esimerkiksi mahdollista päästökauppaa, päästöveroja tai alempia satamamaksuja varten. Tämän tutkimuksen perusteella näyttää, että kun päästörajoitukset kovenevat, tarve tällaiselle päästöraportointiratkaisulle kasvaa. NOx ja SOx päästöjen laskentaan perustuvat menetelmät eivät ole tarpeeksi tarkkoja, joten jos vaaditaan täsmällistä raportointia, tarvitaan mittauksia ja niiden raportointia. Nämä voidaan luotettavasti toteuttaa menetelmillä, jotka ovat kuvattuna tässä tutkimuksessa
