Hydrological forecasts are widely used for water level regulation, hydroelectricity production and flood damage prevention in Finland. Finnish Environment Institute's Watershed Simulation and Forecasting System (WSFS) provides hydrological water level and discharge forecasts for the whole nation based on hydrological observations and meteorological forecasts. Hydrological forecasts are produced, distributed and continuously updated in a fully automatic way. The distributed forecasts are stored and later verified. Forecast Accuracy Follow-up System (FAFS) is a subsystem of WSFS. It automatically produces verification graphs and scores from the stored forecasts, and displays them through web interface.
