The objective of this thesis was to calculate capacity value of wind power in Finland in several different situations, for example with different wind penetrations and different generation adequacy levels. The aim was also to use different time series to calculate the capacity value to see if different time series lead to some differences in the results. The dependence of wind generation on load in Finland was modelled in the thesis. Based on that a simulation model was developed. The simulation model was used to create load, conventional generation and wind generation time series. Finally the time series were used to calculate the capacity value.
