Telamittalaitteen valmistettavuuden ja toimivuuden kehittäminen

The thesis covers the development project of a roll measuring device. The project was carried out during years 2008-2009 in RollResearch International Oy. The thesis includes a survey of the measuring devices being used to measure the rolls. The thesis includes also an introduction about the features which are important in measuring big cylinders. The clearing of the operating possibilities of the measuring device also for steel industry in grinding the rolls was considerated useful because it was needed to maintain the possibility to use the measuring device in grinding the rolls. The mathematical observation of the multipoint measurement and the introduction of its operation were intentionally marked out of the thesis. The thesis is divided into three parts. The differences between grinding the rolls are explained in the introduction of the thesis. The scale of accuracy of the measurement device and the demands of the measurement's repetitiveness are also introduced in the introduction. The introduction and the analyzation of the measurement devices are explained in the second part. Also the patents and the patent applications regarding the measurement of the big cylinders are introduced in the second part. The third part covers the actual subject of the thesis; the development project of the roll measuring device. The part of engineering project is divided into many short parts according to the features of the measurement device. The measurement device developed in the project is based on four measuring points. The device can be used to measure the geometrics and the absolutic diameter of any big cylinder. The type of the measuring device is a run-out measuring device added with the measuring features of an absolute diameter. The big cylinders with 250 - 2000 mm diameter can be measured with the device. The resources to improve the accuracy of the mechanics and the reducibility of the framework in the measurement device were especially used during the project. The framework was engineered from carbon fiber sandwich composite. New methods and possibilities to manufacture an accurate framework for the measurement device were especially thought during the engineering because the mounting of the parts should be easy and accomplished accurate. However, it was obvious, that the price of the framework had to be reasonable. The new roll geometric measurement device engineered as the thesis fulfils the requirements of RollResearch International Oy, the orderer of the job. As an outcome for the project the most important product of RollResearch was updated to a new level.Opinnäytetyö käsittelee telamittalaitteen kehitysprojektia, joka toteutettiin 2008-2009 RollResearch International Oy:ssä. Työhön on sisällytetty kartoitus olemassa olevista mittalaitteista sekä telojen että valssien mittaamiseksi. Työhön sisältyy myös pohdiskelua ominaisuuksista, jotka ovat tärkeitä suurten lieriöiden mittaamisessa. Mittalaitteen käyttömahdollisuuksien selvittäminen myös terästeollisuuden valssien hionnassa katsottiin tarpeelliseksi, koska haluttiin säilyttää mahdollisuus mittalaitteen käyttämiseen valssien hionnassa. Opinnäytetyöstä rajattiin tarkoituksella ulos monipistemittauksen matemaattinen tarkastelu ja sen toiminnan pohdinta. Työ jakaantuu kolmeen pääosaan. Yleisesittely -osassa esitellään eroavaisuuksia valssien ja telojen hionnassa. Yleisesittely -osassa esitellään myös mittalaitteen toimintatarkkuusaluetta ja mittauksien toistettavuuden vaatimuksia. Olemassa olevien mittalaitteiden esittely ja analysointi on toisessa osassa. Toisessa osassa esitellään myös suurten lieriöiden mittaamiseen liittyviä patentteja ja niiden hakemuksia. Kolmannessa osassa on varsinainen työn aihe, eli telamittalaitteen suunnitteluprojekti. Suunnitteluprojektiosio on jaettu useampaan pienempään osaan mittalaitteen ominaisuuksien mukaan. Suunnitteluprojektissa kehitetty mittalaite on neljään mittauspisteeseen perustuva mittalaite, jota voidaan käyttää minkä tahansa suuren lieriön geometrian ja absoluuttisen halkaisijan mittaamiseksi. Mittalaitteen tyyppi on heittomittalaite lisättynä absoluuttisen halkaisijan mittausominaisuudella. Mittalaitteella pystytään mittaamaan suuria lieriöitä, joiden halkaisija on 250 - 2000 mm sisällä. Suunnitteluprojektissa käytettiin erityisesti resursseja mittalaitteen mekaniikan saattamiseksi tarkkuudeltaan riittäväksi sekä runkorakenteen valmistettavuuden parantamiseksi. Runkorakenne toteutettiin hiilikuitu-sandwichkomposiitista, ja sen suunnittelussa jouduttiin miettimään erityisesti uusia lähestymistapoja ja mahdollisuuksia valmistaa tarkkamittaista mittalaitteen runkoa, johon osien kiinnitys olisi helppoa ja tarkasti toteutettavissa. Selvää oli, että samaan aikaan runkorakenteen hinnan olisi pysyttävä kohtuullisena. Opinnäytetyössä kehitetty uusi telageometrian mittalaite täyttää työn tilaajan eli RollResearchin projektille asettamat vaatimukset. Lopputuloksena RollResearchin päätuote saatiin päivitettyä uudelle tasolle
