The objective of this thesis is to evaluate PSIRP (Publish/Subscribe Internet Routing Paradigm) network architecture and compare it with the current Internet architecture (TCP/IP). The evaluation is done with a set of experiments and also by reviewing the designs of the architectures. The experiments tell about the behaviour and efficiency of the PSIRP network prototype, and the review reveals the ideas and reasons behind the PSIRP architecture. The goal of the PSIRP research project is to redesign the Internet architecture using the publish/subscribe paradigm. The publish/subscribe paradigm is an information-centric communication model that replaces the send/receive communication model of the current Internet. PSIRP is a clean slate ...
