The sociopsychological expression of parents‘ violence against children Constrain and cruelty in a family is not a new phenomenon. Though, when the problem of parents‘ violence against children is given publicity it becomes the object of discussion and the reality in the family life. Scientific problem. The aim of the research – to reveal the expression of the sociopsychological parents‘ violence against children. The hypothesis of the work. The violence against children lies in all family life, its poor daily circumstances, in psychological communication between parents and children, in their behaviour, in parents‘ ability to educate modern children under the circumstances of developing democratic relations among people in Lithuania. That is possible to investigate impirically using the experience and wisdom of social teachers as well as evaluating the violence against children which happens in their pupils‘ families. The part of the scientific literature analysis deals with the conception of the violence against children, its origin, reasons and consequences. The experience of foreign countries related with the solutions of these problems is being analysed. Having analysed the works of various authors it is possible to state that one of the main preventive means is the sociopsychological education of the society. The state of parents‘ violence against children is characterized by economic instability, low economic social family status. Parents‘ wish to wreak their fury, fret, discontent caused by various reasons, also alcoholism and drug addiction. The lack of knowledge about the development of different child‘s age stages and the lack of educational methods. Difficulties in communication due to the violence experienced in childhood, neglect and alienation. The carried out research partially suggests that it is possible to solve the problem of the violence against children effectively in Lithuania only if efforts of various specialists, authorities, non-governmental and public oraganisations are united, improving public preventive programmes and expanding the system of the sociopsychological help. Fostering the responsibility of the society, paying more attention to information about the children and parents‘ rights and duties. Taking care about the upholding of such phenomenon as humanity in the family – talking about family values, wish and ability to forgive, understand and feel the other member of the family, to forsake bad creeds which do not allow to live peacefully and without any fury.Švietimo akademijaVytauto Didžiojo universiteta
