The Use of the Internet Resources in Developing Four Communicative Skills

The Master’s Degree paper discusses the ways of using the Internet resources as ready-made materials for learning and teaching English, i.e. developing four communicative skills. The Internet offers unique opportunities that can give teaching new impetus. It partially can substitute some books, magazines, newspapers, television, audio and video. The objective of the current paper is to discuss possible ways of using the World Wide Web materials in class. The implementation of the objective sets the following tasks: 1) to describe the peculiarities of teaching listening, speaking, reading, and writing with a help of Internet material; 2) to present practical guidelines of the usage of internet-based ready-made materials developing different communicative skills. Thus, the paper consists of introduction, theoretical grounding, practical recommendations and conclusions. The practical value of the paper is the opportunity to use obtained results in secondary schools equipped with Internet facilities. In many ways the challenges presented to both students and teachers by the Internet can provide a more interesting and rewarding experience. The use of the Internet extends the scope of techniques used in an English class.
