Every country confronts a problem of the students who could not graduate or dropped out from their schools. Its decision cannot be dissociated from economic and social structure of the country. The problem is associated with powerty, unemployment, using of alcohol, narcotic and drugs; very low social position of the family and the changes of social values in Lithuania. After restoration of independence and becoming and equal member of the world. Community, emerged the question, how to maintain an authentic tradition of culture and language. Education is a sphere of the culture of nation which can be the base of the virtue of our national economy and welfare. The achievement of education and knowledge for today’s society is unavoidable. However, we will have to solve one of the most difficult problems of education in Lithuania – nonattendance of school. The motivation problem of learning is mostly revealed in adolescence when the teenagers do not want to study and later not to attend their school. A teenager, who experiences a failure at school constantly is deprived of the desire of learning and it is growing weaker his motivation of learning and very often he tries to cut his lessons. Obviously, all that has a negative meaning for his future life. As usually, such teenagers fall under the group of social risk influence. They fill up the ranks of unqualified, unemployed, vagrants and criminals. Nowadays, our state hasn’t enough capacity to ensure that all children under 16 could study, that all of them could get compulsory, secondary education and vocational training. The system of adult teaching is extended rather poorly in Lithuania. The extention of the system is one of the most important tasks of educational reorganization. In the point of view of students, there is such a conclusion, that it was interested in education and school all the time. Nonattendance was forgotten during the last decades of the Soviet period. Some years later after the restoration of independence when nonattendance of school became obvious clearly, it was begun to research it again. The aim of the work was to go deep into historic and cultural factors which decided the realization in Lithuania and exerted the influence upon the traditions aspiring to education. It was made the analysis of the reasons of nonattendance of school. The research has discovered nonattendance of school and the interaction of the society, family, school, personality. Nonattendance of school in Lithuania shows that our society goes through a very complicated period of social changes. Educational system experiences very difficult problems and is on the way of reforms. There were some valid reasons for the widespread phenomenon of nonattendance of school in the last decade – 1990: the decay of national economy, the decrease of educational prestige, the changes in the families and the mistakes of education reform. A very low living standard of the families exerts a negative influence upon students motivation of learning and this a the main cause of nonattendance of school in our country. The object of the research: The accomplishment of the compulsory education. The aim of the research: To identify the reasons of the nonattendance in the region and to evaluate the consequences of this phenomenon. The goals of the research: 1. On a basis of pedagogical and psychological literature to analyse the theoretical aspects of unsuccessful learning and nonattendance of school. 2. To review the development of the compulsory education in Lithuania. 2. To research the reasons of students nonattendance and learning failures. 4. To evaluate school headmasters, teachers and students opinion about the problem of nonattendance. 5. To prepare recommendations for headmasters, teachers and parents to work with the students who do not want to learn and attend classes. The methods of the research: 1. Theoretical: the studying of psychological, pedagogical and other literature on the topic; the analysis of the documents of the Lithuanian Educational system and the data of nonattendance and unsuccessful learning. 2. Empiric: Statistic research which allowed to clear up the reasons of nonattendance at school. 3. Talks, discussions interviews with school hladmasters, teachers, the observation of students. 4.
