The link between diet and the aetiology of chronic diseases such as cancer and coronary heart disease is widely accepted. Consumption of fruit and vegetables is known to have a protective effect on such health issues. Research shows that access to and availability of such foods are key to facilitating change and sustainable healthy behaviours. This study examines the access to fruit and vegetables at a community level using the Chester wards of Blacon and Hoole.
