The aim of this study is to develop production management model in transportation for logistics company. Literature research has been gathered from both Finnish and foreign (mainly U.S.) literature. The application part, chapter four, contains first researcher's personal view of production management applied to transportation. The study introduces production management principles: MRP and MRP II, JIT (Just In Time), Optimized Product Technology, Lean Management and Efficient Consumer Response. The concept model has been developed based on literature research and researcher's own experience.
