The objective of this thesis was to study the characteristics of mixed fuels for the purposes of emissions calculation of the greenhouse gas inventory and energy statistics. Mixed fuels are fuels containing both fossil and renewable biodegradable coal. These fuels should be separated into fossil and biodegradable parts in both emissions calculation and statistics compilation. The thesis examined the guidelines of the greenhouse gas inventory for emissions calculation of mixed fuels, the legislation and standards concerning the mixed fuels in question and the requirements of emissions trading.
