The aim of the research was to examine the factors which are effecting to the planning of grouting and collect grouting information from the Nordic constructed tunnels. With this information it is possible to understand how the tightness requirements and the grouting need are defined. The grouting of the district cooling plant was studied carefully so that the possible correlation between grout take and pre-investigations at the working site could be found. Analytical methods are used more for the water leakage evaluation than numerical methods. They are also easier and faster to use compared to the numerical methods.
