Finite element method is a commonly used computational method in electromagnetic field problems. The aim of this work was to validate a finite element model developed for the analysis of cage induction motors. The finite element model is validated using benchmark analytical method and thermal model available for cage induction motors. The idea used in validating finite element method using analytical method is imitating the geometry defined in analytical method by the finite element method. Time stepping finite element analysis is applied to the obtained geometry to get the results. These results are compared with analytical method results.
