Excellent research infrastructures are a prerequisite for conducting competitive research of high international quality in dynamic environments. Thus, research infrastructures are topics of common interest for the Nordic countries where Nordic cooperation can make an international contribution. The NORIA-net "Nordic Research Infrastructure Network" (NRIN) was initiated as a preparatory action in order to strengthen Nordic cooperation on research infrastructure policies, strategies and funding.
