Itinerant Physics Exhibition: implications on motivation of students

The teaching of Physics has aroused the interest of researchers due to, among other factors, the challenges and learning difficulties faced by students and teachers in the classroom. This scenario is reflected in the several publications in the field of Physics teaching that try to understand these challenges and overcome them. Some of the challenges found in teaching and learning Physics can be related to the own discipline curriculum, the number of classes offered weekly, the lack of teaching laboratories and to the students’ motivation. With the endeavor of helping to overcome these challenges, the proposal of this work is to present and discuss a strategy related to the use experiments. Some researchers understand that the use of experiments and the practical activities carried out in non-formal environments of education can help in the actions that are carried out in the school can help in the development of Physics classs. In that way, a set of experiments was developed that was taken to some schools in Janaúba/MG. The experiments developed provide to observe in practical and concrete way, several concepts related to the study of Physical that make up the curriculum of the basic education schools. To evaluate the viability of the operation and the impact of the “Itinerant Physics Exhibition” on students, the activity was held in two schools of Janaúba and students who participated in the activity were asked to answer questionnaires. A catalog was made containing information of the construction, use and concepts addressed in each experiment that makes up the “Itinerant Physics Exhibition”. The Itinerant Physics Exhibition and the catalog are the product generated from the development of this work and has the title “Experimentos de Física”. The results of the questionnaire applied during the research show that the use of experiments in can have positive effects on the development of autonomy, the competence sensation and the establishment of link in students, which are factors related to intrinsic motivation. Therefore, research resulted in some works that were presented in events related to teaching in 2018 and 2019, and it was possible to conclude that it generated some contributions, helping in the reflections about some of the challenges found in the teaching and learning processes in Physics.Dissertação (Mestrado)O ensino de Física tem despertado o interesse de pesquisadores devido, entre outros fatores, aos desafios e as dificuldades de aprendizagem enfrentadas por alunos e professores na sala de aula. Esse cenário é refletido nas diversas publicações na área de ensino de Física que tentam de alguma forma entender tais desafios e superá-los. Alguns dos desafios encontrados no ensino e aprendizagem de Física podem estar relacionados ao próprio currículo da disciplina, à quantidade de aulas oferecidas semanalmente, a deficiência de laboratórios didáticos e a motivação dos alunos. Com a tentativa de auxiliar na superação destes desafios, a proposta desse trabalho é apresentar e discutir uma estratégia relacionada à utilização de experimentos. Pesquisadores entendem que a utilização de experimentos e as atividades práticas realizadas na escola podem auxiliar no desenvolvimento das aulas de Física. Dessa forma, foi desenvolvido um conjunto de experimentos que foram levados à algumas escolas de Janaúba/MG. Os experimentos construídos permitem observar na prática, diversos conceitos relacionados ao estudo da ciência Física que compõem os currículos de educação básica. Para avaliação da viabilidade do funcionamento e os impactos da “Exposição Itinerante de Física” sobre os estudantes, a atividade foi realizada em duas escolas de Janaúba e os alunos que participarem da atividade foram convidados a responder a questionários. Um catálogo foi confeccionado contendo informações sobre a construção, utilização e os conceitos abordados em cada experimento que compõe a Exposição Itinerante de Física. A Exposição Itinerante de Física e o catálogo que foi criado compõem o produto gerado a partir do desenvolvimento deste trabalho e possui o título “Experimentos de Física”. Os resultados dos questionários aplicados durante a realização da pesquisa mostram que a utilização de experimentos pode gerar efeitos positivos sobre o desenvolvimento da autonomia, a sensação de competência e o estabelecimento de vínculos nos estudantes, que são fatores relacionados à motivação intrínseca. Desta forma, a pesquisa resultou em alguns trabalhos que foram apresentados em eventos relacionados ao ensino nos anos de 2018 e 2019, e foi possível concluir que a mesma gerou algumas contribuições, auxiliando nas reflexões a respeito de alguns dos desafios encontrados nos processos de ensino e aprendizagem em Física
