Emergency vehicles need to reach its destination as fast as possible. To reach this goal a traffic management strategy for the priortisation of emergency vehicles was implemented and evaluated in the project SIRENE. The aim of this research is to provide fast and safe emergency vehicle drives by switching traffic light systems to an emergency vehicle plan. The proposed strategy was simulated with a simulation scenario in SUMO. The simulation results show significant shorter and safer routes for the emergency vehicle drivers
