Illegal work and its prevention in Lithuania

Nowadays illegal work is one of the most important issues in the occupation aree and it has some negative effects on the whole economy of the state. Various means of illegal employment control and sanctions are applied in Lithuania. When stimulating the struggle against illegal work, it is important to employ corresponding means, i.e. not only to punish (administrative fines), but to form negative attitude towards illegal work, to reduce administrative and taxing burden for employers, to create opportunities for alternative contractual relationships. The aim of the research is to determine the peculiarities of illegal work and means of prevention in Lithuania, having analysed the regulation of legal employmenl relations in Lithuania.
