Some observations on justice administration in Latin America

The judiciary in Latin Arnerica is viewed critically by its users. It is an institution that does not respond to contemporary popular dernands. Thee judicial is necessary to improve the levels of efficiency in the administration of justice. This article aims ro review the problems in the administration of justice and assess the reforms, specially in information technology, carried out in Latin America, with particularly attention to the case of Costa Rica.El Poder judicial en América Latina resulta muy criticado por parte de sus usuarios. Se trata de un sistema que no consigue responder a las demandas actuales de la población. La reforma del sistema de justicia se antoja necesaria desde la perspectiva del aumento de la eficiencia en la gestión judicial de los despachos. En el artículo se pretende resumir estas cuestiones junto con el anílisis de las reformas judiciales, principalmente en materia informática, llevadas a cabo en América Latina, con especial atención al caso costarricense
