Le parc marin de Mohéli (Comores), de la protection des tortues à la gestion de l’espace insulaire

To protect green turtles of the Comoros archipelago, a marine protected area was created in Mohéli. It covers 10 of the 22 island villages. The focus is made on collaborative management, trust fund, and local development, including ecotou-rism and fisheries. For local people, the marine park is the only Moheli institution with human skills and money. Their demand is high to solve economical problems and village conflicts.
