Summary - Guadeloupan Attitudes to the Development of Tourism. The tourist industry in Guadeloupe has become a big phenomenon over the past 15 years. It is the island’s second largest economic sector and is an industry where 2,600 jobs have been created, in addition to between 5,000 and 6,000 related activities, and this at a time of serious economic crisis and chronic unemployment.
