The Conference was organized by the Queen Mary University of London as part of the Jean Monnet Networks project "Migration and asylum policies system" - MAPS, coordinated by the University of Naples 'Orientale' for the period 2018-2022. The aim of the Conference was to discuss the barriers faced by forced migrants in accessing their rights imposed by the Covid pandemic. This conference engages in a critical appraisal of the law’s response to the challenges faced by those searching safe haven in the current context; and interrogats the law’s conflicting role in creating vulnerability and hostility, while also being a source of protection.
