We have studied the dynamics of phenylene rings in polysulfone with deuterated methyl groups (PSFd6) by means of neutron scattering in a wide energy window combining time-of-flight and backscattering experiments. Fast oscillations of increasing amplitude with temperature and π-flips are identified for phenylene ring motion. These motions present a broad distribution of characteristic times extending over several orders of magnitude, and thus, contributing to different windows. We acknowledge “Donostia International Physics Center” and the support of the following research projects: MAT 20001/0070 and 9/UPV00206.215-13568/2001.
