Length averages 339 mm and weight 25 g in males and 35,7 g in females, relation between length and weight being almost linear. The commercial population is formed by individuals one (modal length 22-23 cm) and two (modal length 42-46 cm) years old. C. rubescens spawns between May and September. Females mature their gondas when one year old; males must wait until next year. Comparison of length distribution for two sexes, shows a marked dimorphism; the numerical proportion between individuals of different sex, and the minimum spawning lengths, suggest a possible proterogynic change of s...
