In the process of learning and teaching an L2, oral feedback forms part of one of the most common types of classroom interaction, namely the ‘Initiation-Response-Feedback’ (‘IRF’) pattern. Moreover, as a type of interaction, feedback has been an ongoing focus of numerous research in second language teaching which seek to answer the question of whether feedback actually facilitates second language learning.
