The primary aim of the present investigation was to examine the relationship between perceived control and distinct forms of intergroup discrimination (i.e., ‘evaluations and allocations’). Two studies were conducted. The first examined control as an outcome of intergroup discrimination. The second examined control as both an outcome and predictor of intergroup discrimination. Study 1 revealed that, participants who evaluated in-group members (i.e., ‘New Zealanders’) more positively than out-group (i.e., ‘Asians’) experienced an increased sense of control.
