Career advice, guidance and counselling practitioners focus their gaze outward to their clients, helping them with their career development. Little research exists on how they construct their own occupational identity. In this research, I turn my gaze inward on this occupational group; in particular, I look at how they think and feel about what they do and how this influences their professional identity.
