The article looks at the concept of lesson studies in Chinese kindergartens in the Shijingshan District in Beijing, China. It states that lesson studies are a powerful form of professional development which covers key components such as the process of creating, enacting and refining lessons to improve teaching practices. It also notes that as a professional development tool, lesson study may enhance children's learning and teachers' methods
