This paper presents some key findings of a recently completed two- year research study entitled the Literacy- Curriculum Interface, which examined the literacy demands of the curriculum in the senior years of schooling. The study included three main strands - arts/ humanities, maths/science and technological/vocational education - and considered the inclusiveness of the curriculum requirements of the post- compulsory years, and the adequacy of these in preparation for the workplace, vocational training and tertiary education
