The extraction equilibrium between aqueous gold (I) cyanide solutions and secondary amine Amberlite LA-2 was studied. The results showed that the amine extracts gold(I) cyanide mainly from relatively acidic solutions. The extracted complex can be represented by the formula R2NH2+ Au(CN)2−, the extraction is dependent on change in the diluent and presence of a third component in the organic phase. On the basis of experimental data a sequence for the extraction of different metal-cyanide complexes is suggested.Peer reviewe
