A commercially popularized Country & Western song in which the singer recalls the days of his youth when, despite poverty, his family sang together and loved each other. The chorus incorporated the two lines of "Will the Circle Be Unbroken", an older, traditional gospel song of the Southern U.S.Country and Western song distributed commercially in the late 1960's. May have been written by Johnny Cash. Incorporates lines from much earlier, traditional gospel song, "Will the Circle Be Unbroken". Indexer believes song was recorded by Johnny Cash with the Carter Family, before "Mother Maybelle's" death, possibly even before his marriage to June Carter
