Abstract Improvements in health result in improvements in national income, poverty could decline on account of both the standard 'trickle-down' effects and an increased financial capacity of nations to set up safety nets. Poverty can have an adverse impact on health because of malnutrition and also due to poor sanitation; unsafe drinking water supply etc. Odisha is an eastern state of India.
