Abstract This study was designed to investigate the relationship between the self-concept and academic performance of hearing impaired students attending special and regular schools through the use of Adolescent Personal Data Inventory (Akinboye, 1985). A simple survey design was used in the study. The product-moment correlation co-efficient and itest statistic were used to compare the two groups on their self-concept and academic achievement. The findings of the study revealed significant relationship between self-concept and academic achievement of the subjects.
