Abstract: The advancement of nano-science and nano-technology produces intriguing changes for the existing materials applications. In biomaterial science, especially inorganic materials such as silica, zinc oxide, zirconium dioxide, and titanium dioxide have been prepared by various methods including sol-gel synthesis. In sol-gel synthesis, nano-particles are produced and have been used for various applications and applied in surface modification of implantable biomaterials like metals.
