ABSTRACT Measurements were made of the density and viscosity of liquid TiBr,. Measurements of the vapor density at the boiling point indicate that TiBr, is monomolecular. Because of widespread interest in Ti as a strong, light-weight, corrosion-resistant construction material, many and formidable research efforts are being directed toward the development of low-cost processes for production of the metal from its relatively abundant ores. However, since the literature on the compounds of Ti is incomplete, progress would be enhanced by determination of reliable values for some of the physical and thermodynamic properties of Ti halides.
