INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF PHARMACEUTICAL AND CHEMICAL SCIENCES Development of New Analytical Method and Its Validation for the Determination of Ethamsylate in Bulk and Marketed Formulations

ABSTRACT Method is based on the oxidation of Ethamsylate with ferric ammonium sulphate followed by complex formation of resulting ferrous ion (Fe 2+ ) with 1, 10-phenanthroline to form orange red coloured chromogen exhibiting absorption maximum at 509nm and obeyed Beer's law in the concentration range of 2-10 μg/ml. The correlation coefficient was found 0.9998. The method has been validated according to ICH Guidelines
